Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mining and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR), which rose 3.08% or 26 points to trade at 869 at the close. Meanwhile, ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) added 2.62% or 2.270 points to end at 88.970 and FSK EES (MCX:FEES) was up 1.37% or 0.0024 points to 0.1760 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY), which fell 8.26% or 73.00 points to trade at 811.00 at the close. MVideo (MCX:MVID) declined 2.48% or 8.70 points to end at 342.60 and MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) was down 2.05% or 13.00 points to 622.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 122 to 100 and 27 ended unchanged.
Shares in ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) rose to all time highs; rising 2.62% or 2.270 to 88.970. Shares in MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) fell to all time lows; falling 2.05% or 13.00 to 622.50.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 3.91% to 23.860.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.17% or 2.25 to $1342.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 3.41% or 1.58 to hit $44.74 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 3.11% or 1.48 to trade at $46.17 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.44% to 63.9805, while EUR/RUB rose 0.83% to 71.865.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 95.37.
