Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Manufacturing and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which rose 2.11% or 0.0013 points to trade at 0.0624 at the close. Meanwhile, NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) added 1.63% or 9.90 points to end at 616.00 and Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) was up 1.62% or 9.00 points to 564.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK), which fell 3.70% or 2.90 points to trade at 75.58 at the close. MTS (MCX:MTSS) declined 2.89% or 5.80 points to end at 194.70 and Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) was down 2.70% or 5.30 points to 191.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 133 to 77 and 10 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 5.88% to 37.460.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.12% or 1.30 to $1089.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.12% or 0.49 to hit $44.36 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.43% or 0.20 to trade at $48.12 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.14% to 64.570, while EUR/RUB fell 0.64% to 69.054.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.33% at 99.44.
