Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 1.00%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF), which rose 4.47% or 32.80 points to trade at 766.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) added 2.77% or 0.0219 points to end at 0.8138 and Surgut (MCX:SNGS) was up 2.57% or 0.645 points to 25.760 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which fell 6.38% or 0.830 points to trade at 12.170 at the close. MTS (MCX:MTSS) declined 2.95% or 7.05 points to end at 232.00 and DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) was down 2.82% or 6.10 points to 210.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 113 to 93 and 17 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 3.07% to 22.400.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.07% or 0.93 to $1247.33 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.89% or 0.82 to hit $44.20 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.95% or 0.90 to trade at $46.94 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.49% to 59.0724, while EUR/RUB rose 0.24% to 66.5160.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.78% at 96.35.
