Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 0.80%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX), which rose 12.17% or 102.00 points to trade at 940.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Magnit (MCX:MGNT) added 5.09% or 550.0 points to end at 11359.0 and NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) was up 3.48% or 2.48 points to 73.68 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sberbank (MCX:SBER), which fell 3.58% or 3.30 points to trade at 89.00 at the close. Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX:LSRG) declined 3.30% or 20.0 points to end at 586.0 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) was down 3.21% or 3.05 points to 92.05.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 107 to 107 and 9 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.62% to 36.980.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.02% or 0.20 to $1166.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.27% or 1.00 to hit $42.98 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.80% or 0.85 to trade at $46.69 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 3.25% to 65.065, while EUR/RUB rose 3.06% to 71.819.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 97.01.
