Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Power, Manufacturing and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX rose 0.68% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Uralkaliy (MCX:URKA), which rose 4.82% or 9.35 points to trade at 203.35 at the close. Meanwhile, FSK EES (MCX:FEES) added 4.25% or 0.0073 points to end at 0.1795 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) was up 2.70% or 2.75 points to 104.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK), which fell 1.97% or 13.60 points to trade at 677.90 at the close. Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) declined 1.02% or 9 points to end at 873 and Surgut-pref (MCX:SNGS_p) was down 1.02% or 0.330 points to 32.005.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 126 to 101 and 24 ended unchanged.
Shares in FSK EES (MCX:FEES) rose to 3-years highs; rising 4.25% or 0.0073 to 0.1795. Shares in Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.70% or 2.75 to 104.70.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.44% to 23.920 a new 52-week low.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.21% or 2.85 to $1330.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.38% or 1.05 to hit $45.20 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.69% or 0.79 to trade at $47.62 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.11% to 65.0243, while EUR/RUB fell 0.22% to 72.516.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 95.73.
