Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Mining and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX rose 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK), which rose 7.05% or 6.75 points to trade at 102.55 at the close. Meanwhile, MMK (MCX:MAGN) added 5.57% or 1.680 points to end at 31.860 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) was up 4.91% or 16.60 points to 355.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Niznekamskneftekhim ao (MCX:NKNC), which fell 5.97% or 4.700 points to trade at 74.000 at the close. AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) declined 3.98% or 6300 points to end at 152000 and Lenta Ltd (MCX:LNTADR) was down 2.01% or 10 points to 464.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 120 to 105 and 24 ended unchanged.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.83% to 23.890.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.10% or 1.30 to $1275.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.29% or 1.60 to hit $47.10 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 3.59% or 1.82 to trade at $48.86 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.58% to 63.3708, while EUR/RUB rose 0.61% to 69.546.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 98.37.
