Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX rose 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Akron (MCX:AKRN), which rose 4.47% or 155.0 points to trade at 3625.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) added 3.17% or 0.0266 points to end at 0.8656 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) was up 2.63% or 0.785 points to 30.650 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bashneft ANK ao (MCX:BANE), which fell 1.86% or 57.0 points to trade at 3000.0 at the close. Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) declined 1.69% or 2.90 points to end at 168.60 and ANK Bashneft OAO Pref (MCX:BANE_p) was down 1.30% or 24.5 points to 1864.5.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 125 to 102 and 21 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 7.80% to 26.730.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.60% or 8.25 to $1364.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 4.13% or 1.63 to hit $41.14 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 3.92% or 1.64 to trade at $43.44 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.70% to 66.2017, while EUR/RUB fell 1.57% to 73.811.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.51% at 95.50.
