Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 6.51% or 0.0140 points to trade at 0.2290 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 4.99% or 0.0017 points to end at 0.0358 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was up 2.41% or 0.0220 points to 0.9350 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which fell 2.83% or 0.0390 points to trade at 1.3410 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) declined 2.10% or 0.1380 points to end at 6.4320 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was down 1.45% or 0.1600 points to 10.8400.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 22 to 19 and 9 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for April delivery was down 0.37% or 0.13 to $34.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.26% or 0.09 to hit $32.37 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 1.27% or 14.50 to trade at $1155.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.86% to 1.1200, while EUR/GBP rose 0.93% to 0.7678.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.70% at 96.57.
