Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Technology and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.97% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 4.19% or 0.0083 points to trade at 0.2063 at the close. Meanwhile, Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) added 1.98% or 0.061 points to end at 3.141 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was up 1.96% or 0.008 points to 0.417 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 5.02% or 0.0150 points to trade at 0.2840 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 0.82% or 0.0180 points to end at 2.1800 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was down 0.55% or 0.0800 points to 14.3650.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 24 to 9 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.36% or 0.19 to $51.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.51% or 0.25 to hit $48.98 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.89% or 11.42 to trade at $1266.08 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.74% to 1.0947, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.8526.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 98.62.
