Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.80% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 4.09% or 0.1340 points to trade at 3.4140 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (LS:SEM) added 2.56% or 0.4550 points to end at 18.2050 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was up 2.29% or 0.1540 points to 6.8650 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which fell 0.87% or 0.1400 points to trade at 15.9050 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 0.75% or 0.085 points to end at 11.300 and Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) was 0.00% or 0.000 points to 3.030.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 22 to 12 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Semapa (LS:SEM) rose to all time highs; up 2.56% or 0.4550 to 18.2050.
Brent oil for February delivery was down 0.22% or 0.14 to $63.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.66% or 0.38 to hit $56.95 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.68% or 8.50 to trade at $1266.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.1801, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.8804.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 93.10.
