Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.80% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which rose 7.62% or 1.550 points to trade at 21.880 at the close. Meanwhile, Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) added 3.02% or 0.660 points to end at 22.550 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was up 2.91% or 0.490 points to 17.340 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which fell 2.87% or 1.04 points to trade at 35.15 at the close. Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) declined 2.28% or 2.62 points to end at 112.51 and Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) was down 1.83% or 0.36 points to 19.32.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 242 to 66 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.01% or 12.94 to $1264.56 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.95% or 0.47 to hit $49.70 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.13% or 0.59 to trade at $52.72 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.79% to 18.8777, while EUR/MXN rose 1.40% to 20.6405.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 98.66.
