Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which rose 3.29% or 0.630 points to trade at 19.770 at the close. Meanwhile, Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEGACPO) added 2.50% or 2.180 points to end at 89.460 and El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) was up 2.27% or 3.08 points to 138.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which fell 5.04% or 46.32 points to trade at 872.68 at the close. Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) declined 1.90% or 2.530 points to end at 130.700 and Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) was down 1.40% or 1.26 points to 88.87.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 187 to 102 and 24 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.09% or 1.10 to $1213.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.74% or 1.19 to hit $69.72 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.86% or 1.42 to trade at $77.71 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.58% to 18.9667, while EUR/MXN fell 0.48% to 22.2014.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 94.47.
