Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the IT, Technology and Auto sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 fell 1.43%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index fell 1.33%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (NS:HPCL), which rose 4.00% or 8.30 points to trade at 215.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NS:SUN) added 2.59% or 15.35 points to end at 609.95 and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (NS:KTKM) was up 1.87% or 22.00 points to 1198.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:INBF), which fell 16.43% or 129.60 points to trade at 653.80 at the close. HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:HCLT) declined 6.57% or 67.25 points to end at 958.50 and Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB) was down 5.41% or 12.55 points to 217.90.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which rose 2.52% to 608.40, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (BO:KTKM) which was up 1.74% to settle at 1198.50 and Vedanta Ltd (BO:VDAN) which gained 1.51% to close at 211.15.
The worst performers were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which was down 6.06% to 217.70 in late trade, Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (BO:HDFC) which lost 4.32% to settle at 1661.30 and Reliance Industries Ltd (BO:RELI) which was down 4.11% to 1101.65 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1141 to 447 and 51 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1655 fell and 836 advanced, while 144 ended unchanged.
Shares in Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:INBF) fell to 52-week lows; losing 16.43% or 129.60 to 653.80.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 10.05% to 19.7875.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.08% or 1.00 to $1231.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.66% or 0.45 to hit $69.10 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.97% or 0.77 to trade at $80.06 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.50% to 73.435, while EUR/INR fell 0.01% to 84.2145.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 95.64.
