Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Transportation & Logistics and Financial Services sectors led shares higher while losses in the Basic Resources, Food & Beverages and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.18%, while the MDAX index fell 0.24%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG), which rose 2.13% or 2.30 points to trade at 110.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) added 1.20% or 0.200 points to end at 16.810 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) was up 1.13% or 0.39 points to 34.47 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Linde AG O.N. (DE:LING), which fell 2.30% or 4.00 points to trade at 170.00 at the close. Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) declined 2.04% or 0.196 points to end at 9.404 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) was down 1.49% or 0.335 points to 22.180.
The top performers on the MDAX were Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which rose 2.06% to 51.420, Innogy SE (DE:IGY) which was up 1.36% to settle at 34.180 and Tag Immobilien AG (DE:TEGG) which gained 1.33% to close at 13.730.
The worst performers were Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which was down 3.12% to 90.100 in late trade, Lanxess AG (DE:LXSG) which lost 2.49% to settle at 67.290 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) which was down 2.27% to 129.00 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which rose 3.45% to 13.660, GFT Technologies AG (DE:GFTG) which was up 2.64% to settle at 19.860 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which gained 1.87% to close at 11.195.
The worst performers were S&T AG (F:SANT1) which was down 2.69% to 12.744 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (DE:JENG) which lost 1.76% to settle at 25.620 and Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which was down 1.72% to 100.000 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 442 to 319 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.13% or 2.30 to 110.30. Shares in Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.20% or 0.200 to 16.810. Shares in Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.06% or 1.040 to 51.420. Shares in Tag Immobilien AG (DE:TEGG) rose to 5-year highs; rising 1.33% or 0.180 to 13.730. Shares in Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.87% or 0.205 to 11.195.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 14.34% to 13.23 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.09% or 1.15 to $1228.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.74% or 0.34 to hit $45.88 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.94% or 0.46 to trade at $48.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.0928, while EUR/GBP fell 0.32% to 0.8446.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 98.97.
