Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Media, Construction and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 1.33%, while the MDAX index fell 2.21%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which rose 1.67% or 0.57 points to trade at 34.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) added 1.43% or 0.52 points to end at 36.85 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) was up 1.19% or 0.60 points to 51.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which fell 4.33% or 0.83 points to trade at 18.32 at the close. Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) declined 3.47% or 0.33 points to end at 9.19 and Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn) was down 3.04% or 9.40 points to 299.80.
The top performers on the MDAX were Software AG (ETR:SOWGn) which rose 2.16% to 20.30, Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was up 1.25% to settle at 40.44 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which gained 0.80% to close at 138.15.
The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 5.43% to 15.93 in late trade, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which lost 5.41% to settle at 6.21 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which was down 4.55% to 9.51 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Software AG (ETR:SOWGn) which rose 2.16% to 20.30, Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which was up 1.90% to settle at 28.96 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which gained 1.67% to close at 34.47.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 8.85% to 73.65 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which lost 4.34% to settle at 14.01 and Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which was down 4.06% to 17.25 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 493 to 188 and 76 ended unchanged.
Shares in HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) fell to 3-years lows; losing 5.43% or 0.92 to 15.93.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 10.75% to 27.62.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 3.06% or 58.75 to $1,981.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.30% or 1.57 to hit $66.78 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 2.36% or 1.76 to trade at $72.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.63% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 103.47.
