Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Retail, Technology and Consumer & Cyclical sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 1.26%, while the MDAX index lost 0.92%, and the TecDAX index fell 2.21%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG), which rose 3.15% or 1.30 points to trade at 42.55 at the close. Meanwhile, E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) added 1.62% or 0.16 points to end at 10.07 and Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) was up 1.20% or 0.35 points to 29.13 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG), which fell 10.80% or 4.04 points to trade at 33.38 at the close. Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) declined 8.68% or 2.68 points to end at 28.20 and Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) was down 5.01% or 3.32 points to 62.94.
The top performers on the MDAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) which rose 3.08% to 7.02, Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which was up 2.91% to settle at 170.00 and Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) which gained 1.76% to close at 24.24.
The worst performers were Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which was down 7.69% to 44.99 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which lost 6.04% to settle at 11.75 and Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (ETR:FPE3_p) which was down 3.68% to 27.74 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which rose 1.26% to 11.67, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 0.63% to settle at 25.36 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which lost 0.14% to close at 18.10.
The worst performers were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was down 8.16% to 48.26 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which lost 6.04% to settle at 11.75 and Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was down 4.01% to 41.18 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 485 to 190 and 89 ended unchanged.
Shares in RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) rose to 5-year highs; rising 3.15% or 1.30 to 42.55. Shares in Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (ETR:FPE3_p) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.68% or 1.06 to 27.74.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.86% to 26.29.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.07% or 1.21 to $1,817.69 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.35% or 2.58 to hit $107.05 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.47% or 2.77 to trade at $109.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.41% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 103.75.
