Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Retail, Construction and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.31% to hit a new 52-week low, while the MDAX index declined 1.28%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn), which rose 1.89% or 2.65 points to trade at 142.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) added 1.83% or 0.83 points to end at 46.29 and Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) was up 1.56% or 1.65 points to 107.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which fell 4.95% or 1.46 points to trade at 28.06 at the close. Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) declined 3.79% or 0.99 points to end at 25.16 and Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn) was down 2.82% or 1.55 points to 53.45.
The top performers on the MDAX were Sixt SE (ETR:SIXG) which rose 3.90% to 101.20, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which was up 2.66% to settle at 5.71 and Scout24 AG (ETR:G24n) which gained 2.51% to close at 49.76.
The worst performers were Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) which was down 27.58% to 11.32 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which lost 8.14% to settle at 35.10 and Deutsche Wohnen AG (ETR:DWNG) which was down 5.42% to 20.93 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which rose 3.43% to 41.00, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was up 2.55% to settle at 47.48 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which gained 1.83% to close at 46.29.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 4.05% to 23.70 in late trade, Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which lost 3.11% to settle at 20.58 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was down 2.71% to 21.68 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 354 to 323 and 83 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) fell to 5-year lows; losing 4.95% or 1.46 to 28.06. Shares in Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.82% or 1.55 to 53.45. Shares in Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) fell to 5-year lows; falling 27.58% or 4.31 to 11.32. Shares in Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) fell to all time lows; falling 3.11% or 0.66 to 20.58. Shares in Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.71% or 0.61 to 21.68.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.55% to 28.72.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.36% or 6.40 to $1,807.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.80% or 1.95 to hit $110.38 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.74% or 1.94 to trade at $113.57 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 104.96.
