Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.30%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.30%, while the MDAX index fell 0.65%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.47%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG), which rose 6.21% or 0.075 points to trade at 1.285 at the close. Meanwhile, Covestro AG (DE:1COV) added 2.68% or 1.020 points to end at 39.130 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p) was up 0.76% or 0.65 points to 86.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which fell 1.86% or 2.80 points to trade at 148.00 at the close. Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) declined 1.16% or 1.110 points to end at 94.230 and E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) was down 1.07% or 0.108 points to 9.952.

The top performers on the MDAX were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which rose 4.30% to 6.404, Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which was up 1.73% to settle at 43.760 and Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which gained 1.72% to close at 118.500.

The worst performers were Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) which was down 3.23% to 69.21 in late trade, Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which lost 2.35% to settle at 39.75 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 2.05% to 107.700 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which rose 6.21% to 1.285, Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which was up 3.31% to settle at 78.100 and Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which gained 1.73% to close at 43.760.

The worst performers were Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:EUZG) which was down 3.85% to 38.940 in late trade, Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which lost 2.35% to settle at 39.75 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 2.05% to 107.700 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 411 to 258 and 80 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.58% to 24.48.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.82% or 16.40 to $2015.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.44% or 0.19 to hit $42.70 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.15% or 0.07 to trade at $45.30 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.52% to 1.1930, while EUR/GBP fell 0.49% to 0.9012.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.56% at 92.323.
