Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Utilities and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.17%, while the MDAX index declined 0.07%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG), which rose 1.35% or 2.75 points to trade at 206.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) added 0.90% or 0.830 points to end at 93.450 and Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn) was up 0.64% or 0.420 points to 66.250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which fell 1.67% or 0.235 points to trade at 13.810 at the close. Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) declined 1.43% or 1.60 points to end at 110.25 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was down 1.13% or 0.230 points to 20.170.
The top performers on the MDAX were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which rose 2.07% to 20.980, Schaeffler AG Pref (DE:SHA_p) which was up 1.81% to settle at 12.38 and Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which gained 1.79% to close at 52.24.
The worst performers were Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which was down 2.09% to 40.99 in late trade, Uniper SE (DE:UN01) which lost 1.99% to settle at 20.900 and Aareal Bank AG (DE:ARLG) which was down 1.80% to 34.040 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 4.84% to 92.880, Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which was up 2.47% to settle at 132.80 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which gained 1.80% to close at 4.571.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was down 4.56% to 32.315 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which lost 3.62% to settle at 9.541 and Qiagen NV (DE:QGEN) which was down 1.60% to 26.750 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 457 to 288 and 44 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) rose to all time highs; rising 1.79% or 0.92 to 52.24.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.36% to 12.11.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.17% or 2.22 to $1327.08 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.34% or 0.17 to hit $49.72 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $55.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.31% to 1.1956, while EUR/GBP fell 0.98% to 0.8809.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 91.80.
