Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Construction, Retail and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.13%, while the MDAX index lost 0.82%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G), which rose 2.63% or 2.44 points to trade at 95.16 at the close. Meanwhile, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) added 1.53% or 5.20 points to end at 345.40 and Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) was up 1.35% or 2.25 points to 169.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn), which fell 2.96% or 0.29 points to trade at 9.64 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) declined 2.66% or 0.63 points to end at 23.07 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) was down 2.54% or 0.67 points to 25.75.
The top performers on the MDAX were K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which rose 2.74% to 15.56, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 2.56% to settle at 28.86 and ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which gained 1.44% to close at 9.87.
The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 3.55% to 35.19 in late trade, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which lost 2.99% to settle at 1.10 and Sixt SE (ETR:SIXG) which was down 2.68% to 112.40 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 2.56% to 28.86, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was up 1.53% to settle at 345.40 and ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which gained 1.44% to close at 9.87.
The worst performers were Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was down 3.50% to 206.50 in late trade, Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which lost 2.76% to settle at 27.52 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 2.13% to 10.81 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 397 to 255 and 94 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.21% to 13.28 a new 3-years low.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.12% or 2.45 to $1,971.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 3.03% or 2.07 to hit $70.34 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 2.92% or 2.14 to trade at $75.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.00% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.73% at 101.78.
