Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 3.81%, while the MDAX index climbed 2.32%, and the TecDAX index gained 2.23%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (XETRA:DTEGn), which rose 5.35% or 0.820 points to trade at 16.160 at the close. Meanwhile, Daimler AG NA O.N. (XETRA:DAIGn) added 4.75% or 3.880 points to end at 85.480 and Bay.Motoren Werke AG ST (XETRA:BMWG) was up 4.67% or 4.560 points to 102.300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (XETRA:LHAG), which rose 1.08% or 0.125 points to trade at 11.745 at the close. Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (XETRA:TKAG) added 1.84% or 0.440 points to end at 24.325 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (XETRA:FMEG) was up 2.13% or 1.590 points to 76.350.
The top performers on the MDAX were Duerr AG O.N. (XETRA:DUEG) which rose 6.41% to 85.160, Leoni AG NA O.N. (XETRA:LEOGn) which was up 5.19% to settle at 59.380 and Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (XETRA:PSMGn) which gained 4.51% to close at 44.630.
The worst performers were Tag Immobilien AG (XETRA:TEGG) which was down 5.58% to 10.500 in late trade, Suedzucker Mannheim Ochsenfurt AG (XETRA:SZUG) which lost 0.50% to settle at 15.015 and Osram Licht (XETRA:OSRn) which was down 0.40% to 44.239 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were QSC AG NA O.N. (XETRA:QSCG) which rose 5.38% to 1.960, Jenoptik AG O.N. (XETRA:JENG) which was up 5.12% to settle at 10.980 and Nordex SE O.N. (XETRA:NDXG) which gained 4.37% to close at 21.730.
The worst performers were Wirecard AG (XETRA:WDIG) which was down 3.07% to 35.380 in late trade, LPKF Laser & Electronics (XETRA:LPKG) which lost 0.56% to settle at 8.036 and Kontron AG O.N. (XETRA:KBCG) which was down 0.24% to 4.100 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 598 to 141 and 46 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kontron AG O.N. (XETRA:KBCG) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.24% or 0.010 to 4.100.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 25.41 a new 3-years high.
Gold for August delivery was down 1.51% or 18.20 to $1183.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.45% or 0.27 to hit $59.70 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.50% or 0.32 to trade at $62.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.1355, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.7181.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.15% at 94.45.
