Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Retail, Utilities and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 2.10%, while the MDAX index climbed 2.27%, and the TecDAX index gained 3.42%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG), which rose 9.27% or 3.31 points to trade at 39.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) added 7.42% or 23.20 points to end at 335.80 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) was up 6.26% or 1.70 points to 28.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:VOWG_p), which fell 1.53% or 2.24 points to trade at 144.20 at the close. E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) declined 0.52% or 0.05 points to end at 9.89 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) was down 0.42% or 0.24 points to 56.36.
The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 12.75% to 24.14, Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) which was up 10.72% to settle at 24.16 and K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which gained 5.72% to close at 29.74.
The worst performers were Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (ETR:FPE3_p) which was down 5.10% to 28.26 in late trade, LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which lost 4.59% to settle at 94.80 and Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (ETR:PSMGn) which was down 1.23% to 9.67 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 12.75% to 24.14, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was up 8.63% to settle at 53.10 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which gained 7.42% to close at 335.80.
The worst performers were Vantage Towers AG (ETR:VTWRn) which was down 1.15% to 31.04 in late trade, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which lost 1.01% to settle at 2.94 and 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which was up 0.56% to 19.72 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 560 to 130 and 70 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 9.97% to 27.91.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.76% or 13.86 to $1,810.74 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 4.00% or 4.25 to hit $110.38 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.68% or 3.95 to trade at $111.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 104.52.
