Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Insurance, Industrials and Media sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.75%, while the MDAX index gained 1.60%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which rose 7.44% or 0.69 points to trade at 10.02 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) added 6.05% or 0.56 points to end at 9.85 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG) was up 3.71% or 2.28 points to 63.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which fell 2.32% or 0.44 points to trade at 18.57 at the close. Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) declined 1.84% or 1.80 points to end at 95.80 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) was down 0.75% or 0.38 points to 50.32.
The top performers on the MDAX were Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which rose 5.40% to 42.15, K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which was up 5.08% to settle at 20.29 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which gained 4.48% to close at 6.58.
The worst performers were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 3.66% to 1.84 in late trade, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which lost 3.04% to settle at 6.05 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 2.31% to 131.25 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which rose 5.40% to 42.15, Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was up 2.71% to settle at 31.84 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which gained 2.59% to close at 73.40.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 2.31% to 131.25 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which lost 2.13% to settle at 53.34 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which was down 0.75% to 50.32 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 486 to 193 and 73 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.32% or 0.44 to 18.57.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 15.02% to 22.85.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.97% or 39.10 to $1,943.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.33% or 1.58 to hit $69.40 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.83% or 1.35 to trade at $75.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP rose 1.02% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 102.94.
