Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services, Transportation & Logistics and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.12% to hit a new 3-months high, while the MDAX index gained 1.18%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Covestro AG (ETR:1COV), which rose 5.81% or 2.80 points to trade at 51.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 4.18% or 0.46 points to end at 11.34 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was up 4.04% or 1.03 points to 26.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which fell 2.50% or 7.40 points to trade at 288.10 at the close. Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) declined 0.80% or 0.25 points to end at 31.11 and Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) was down 0.78% or 1.25 points to 158.90.
The top performers on the MDAX were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which rose 5.57% to 26.14, LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which was up 3.96% to settle at 72.92 and Hochtief AG (ETR:HOTG) which gained 3.68% to close at 102.80.
The worst performers were Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was down 4.51% to 43.43 in late trade, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which lost 2.55% to settle at 126.25 and RTL Group SA (ETR:RRTL) which was down 1.21% to 32.68 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which rose 5.57% to 26.14, Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which was up 3.78% to settle at 68.60 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which gained 3.59% to close at 57.65.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 4.93% to 82.85 in late trade, Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which lost 4.51% to settle at 43.43 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 2.50% to 288.10 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 449 to 183 and 30 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.28% to 13.12.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.11% or 22.70 to $2,060.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.45% or 0.34 to hit $76.30 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.33% or 0.27 to trade at $81.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.53% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 103.25.
