Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer Services, Healthcare and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.65% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which rose 2.67% or 1.67 points to trade at 64.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) added 1.81% or 2.96 points to end at 166.18 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) was up 1.80% or 0.47 points to 26.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which fell 2.96% or 1.22 points to trade at 40.00 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) declined 2.50% or 1.05 points to end at 40.97 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) was down 1.64% or 0.22 points to 12.88.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which rose 7.16% to 3.77, TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) which was up 2.67% to settle at 64.30 and Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which gained 1.98% to close at 6.17.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 19.16% to 1.74 in late trade, CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which lost 12.94% to settle at 0.38 and Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which was down 4.04% to 64.15 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 266 to 235 and 101 ended unchanged.
Shares in Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.81% or 2.96 to 166.18. Shares in Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) rose to all time highs; rising 1.80% or 0.47 to 26.62. Shares in Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) fell to all time lows; losing 19.16% or 0.41 to 1.74.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.27% or 5.95 to $2,158.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.95% or 0.78 to hit $82.94 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.77% or 0.67 to trade at $87.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 103.48.
