Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher while losses in the Utilities, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.54%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.74%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which rose 3.03% or 1.34 points to trade at 45.56 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) added 2.64% or 2.00 points to end at 77.70 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) was up 2.59% or 0.94 points to 37.21 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which fell 5.18% or 1.34 points to trade at 24.46 at the close. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) declined 2.53% or 2.46 points to end at 94.86 and Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) was down 2.40% or 2.34 points to 95.34.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were JC Decaux SA (EPA:JCDX) which rose 9.91% to 21.62, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was up 7.57% to settle at 2.17 and ALD SA (EPA:ALDA) which gained 7.20% to close at 6.85.
The worst performers were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 6.45% to 2.35 in late trade, Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) which lost 5.18% to settle at 24.46 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which was down 4.56% to 25.98 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 300 to 213 and 97 ended unchanged.
Shares in Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) rose to all time highs; rising 2.64% or 2.00 to 77.70. Shares in JC Decaux SA (EPA:JCDX) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.91% or 1.95 to 21.62.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.26% or 6.05 to $2,303.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.68% or 0.54 to hit $78.41 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.54% or 0.45 to trade at $83.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.42% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.34% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 104.88.
