Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.22%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which rose 3.28% or 0.42 points to trade at 13.21 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 2.48% or 2.14 points to end at 88.44 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) was up 1.92% or 1.38 points to 73.38 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP), which fell 2.66% or 5.90 points to trade at 215.60 at the close. Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) declined 1.20% or 0.13 points to end at 10.51 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) was down 1.17% or 0.42 points to 35.59.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Argan (EPA:ARGAN) which rose 4.06% to 82.00, Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which was up 4.03% to settle at 10.46 and Imerys SA (EPA:IMTP) which gained 3.79% to close at 31.20.
The worst performers were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was down 6.62% to 2.40 in late trade, Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which lost 4.71% to settle at 1.46 and Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was down 4.11% to 6.07 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 284 to 233 and 90 ended unchanged.
Shares in Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.92% or 1.38 to 73.38. Shares in Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) fell to all time lows; down 6.62% or 0.17 to 2.40.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.94% or 20.35 to $2,181.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.71% or 0.58 to hit $80.69 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.63% or 0.54 to trade at $85.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.40% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.63% at 103.69.
