Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Technology, Consumer Services and Aerospace & Defense sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.48%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.59%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 2.69% or 2.26 points to trade at 86.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) added 1.84% or 0.65 points to end at 36.01 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was up 1.54% or 0.68 points to 44.54 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which fell 11.91% or 50.75 points to trade at 375.20 at the close. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) declined 1.63% or 14.00 points to end at 846.20 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was down 1.10% or 0.62 points to 55.94.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which unchanged 20.19% to 0.01, Beneteau SA (EPA:CHBE) which was up 8.16% to settle at 13.78 and Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which gained 7.33% to close at 68.85.
The worst performers were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) which was down 11.91% to 375.20 in late trade, Valneva (EPA:VLS) which lost 11.90% to settle at 3.32 and Compagnie Plastic Omnium SE (EPA:PLOF) which was down 3.11% to 11.52 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 259 to 248 and 96 ended unchanged.
Shares in Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.84% or 0.65 to 36.01. Shares in Renault SA (EPA:RENA) rose to 3-years highs; rising 1.54% or 0.68 to 44.54.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.03% or 0.60 to $2,160.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 2.19% or 1.81 to hit $80.92 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.99% or 1.74 to trade at $85.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 103.61.
