Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer Services, Technology and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.29%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.90%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which rose 3.64% or 2.06 points to trade at 58.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) added 1.97% or 0.70 points to end at 36.32 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was up 1.90% or 0.92 points to 49.47 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS), which fell 2.21% or 52.00 points to trade at 2,298.00 at the close. Safran SA (EPA:SAF) declined 1.77% or 3.70 points to end at 204.90 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) was down 1.64% or 13.00 points to 779.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 19.18% to 2.27, Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was up 18.09% to settle at 2.22 and Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which gained 6.25% to close at 13.60.
The worst performers were SES (EPA:SESFd) which was down 9.76% to 4.99 in late trade, Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which lost 2.37% to settle at 3.79 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) which was down 2.21% to 2,298.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 300 to 218 and 103 ended unchanged.
Shares in Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.97% or 0.70 to 36.32.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.22% or 5.25 to $2,352.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.10% or 0.92 to hit $82.93 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.88% or 0.78 to trade at $87.43 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 105.57.
