Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrial Transportation, Aerospace & Defense and Electronic Equipment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.69%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alcatel-Lucent (PARIS:ALUA), which rose 16.00% or 0.618 points to trade at 4.481 at the close. Meanwhile, Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA) added 3.33% or 0.30 points to end at 9.18 and Technip (PARIS:TECF) was up 1.87% or 1.15 points to 62.79 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Airbus Group (PARIS:AIR), which fell 2.64% or 1.66 points to trade at 61.13 at the close. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA (PARIS:LVMH) declined 2.49% or 4.30 points to end at 168.25 and Societe Generale (PARIS:SOGN) was down 1.92% or 0.90 points to 45.73.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Alcatel-Lucent (PARIS:ALUA) which rose 16.00% to 4.481, Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA) which was up 3.33% to settle at 9.18 and Genfit (PARIS:GNFT) which gained 3.03% to close at 35.990.
The worst performers were Virbac (PARIS:VIRB) which was down 4.35% to 216.80 in late trade, Numericable Pr (PARIS:NUME) which lost 2.67% to settle at 53.200 and Airbus Group (PARIS:AIR) which was down 2.64% to 61.13 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 606 to 308 and 40 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 6.60% to 17.92.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.58% or 6.90 to $1192.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 3.18% or 1.65 to hit $53.56 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.96% or 1.16 to trade at $60.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.91% to 1.0663, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.7217.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.82% at 98.92.
