Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 2.11%, while the SBF 120 index declined 2.06%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 14.10% or 5.10 points to trade at 41.26 at the close. Meanwhile, Safran SA (PA:SAF) added 1.67% or 1.44 points to end at 87.56 and Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) was up 0.14% or 0.02 points to 14.03 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AXA SA (PA:AXAF), which fell 4.51% or 0.72 points to trade at 15.19 at the close. Atos SE (PA:ATOS) declined 4.42% or 3.12 points to end at 67.40 and Legrand SA (PA:LEGD) was down 4.10% or 2.92 points to 68.38.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which rose 14.10% to 41.26, Virbac SA (PA:VIRB) which was up 6.82% to settle at 213.00 and Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (PA:CASP) which gained 6.75% to close at 21.68.
The worst performers were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was down 6.25% to 14.092 in late trade, Tarkett (PA:TKTT) which lost 6.22% to settle at 11.16 and Eurazeo (PA:EURA) which was down 5.46% to 43.26 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 454 to 120 and 80 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vallourec (PA:VLLP) fell to 5-year lows; down 6.25% or 0.940 to 14.092.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 2.85% to 24.16.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.02% or 0.35 to $1907.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.27% or 0.52 to hit $40.52 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.32% or 0.57 to trade at $42.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.1698, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.9051.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 93.825.
