Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 1.43% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index lost 1.27%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which rose 4.01% or 0.43 points to trade at 11.29 at the close. Meanwhile, Worldline SA (PA:WLN) added 2.48% or 1.76 points to end at 72.72 and Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP) was up 2.19% or 2.35 points to 109.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which fell 7.86% or 1.71 points to trade at 20.05 at the close. Vinci SA (PA:SGEF) declined 6.23% or 4.84 points to end at 72.80 and Legrand SA (PA:LEGD) was down 5.59% or 3.88 points to 65.48.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Suez SA (PA:SEVI) which rose 8.43% to 11.19, DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which was up 8.16% to settle at 6.96 and Genfit (PA:GNFT) which gained 6.90% to close at 4.22.
The worst performers were Lagardere SCA (PA:LAGA) which was down 9.51% to 12.85 in late trade, Renault SA (PA:RENA) which lost 7.86% to settle at 20.05 and CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was down 7.67% to 0.718 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 291 to 275 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in CGG SA (PA:GEPH) fell to all time lows; falling 7.67% or 0.060 to 0.718.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 0.09% to 25.72.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.29% or 25.05 to $1967.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.13% or 0.05 to hit $39.87 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.10 to trade at $43.15 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1792, while EUR/GBP fell 0.47% to 0.9002.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 93.345.
