Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.79%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.83%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which rose 5.43% or 1.14 points to trade at 22.15 at the close. Meanwhile, BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) added 5.15% or 2.52 points to end at 51.32 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 4.24% or 1.14 points to 28.12 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS), which fell 2.08% or 24.00 points to trade at 1,129.00 at the close. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 1.94% or 6.60 points to end at 333.50 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) was down 1.46% or 1.94 points to 131.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which rose 5.43% to 22.15, BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) which was up 5.15% to settle at 51.32 and Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which gained 4.31% to close at 11.38.
The worst performers were Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was down 3.06% to 5.25 in late trade, Imerys SA (EPA:IMTP) which lost 3.00% to settle at 36.18 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) which was down 2.08% to 1,129.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 331 to 217 and 91 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.34% or 6.32 to $1,869.92 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.50% or 1.58 to hit $103.59 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.41% or 1.52 to trade at $106.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 103.55.
