Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.42%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.83%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which rose 4.71% or 2.08 points to trade at 46.22 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) added 2.47% or 1.00 points to end at 41.22 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was up 1.81% or 3.05 points to 171.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which fell 1.55% or 0.86 points to trade at 54.80 at the close. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) declined 0.82% or 0.66 points to end at 80.16 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was down 0.57% or 0.30 points to 51.92.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 6.42% to 1.16, Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which was up 4.79% to settle at 109.30 and Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) which gained 4.71% to close at 46.22.
The worst performers were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 6.13% to 3.37 in late trade, Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which lost 4.81% to settle at 12.06 and Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 3.84% to 4.26 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 283 to 215 and 102 ended unchanged.
Shares in Thales (EPA:TCFP) rose to all time highs; up 1.81% or 3.05 to 171.50. Shares in Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.79% or 5.00 to 109.30.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.74% or 17.60 to $2,393.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.04% or 1.51 to hit $75.58 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.86% or 1.46 to trade at $79.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 104.20.
