Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.28%, while the SBF 120 index unchanged 0.00%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY), which rose 1.32% or 1.20 points to trade at 92.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) added 1.10% or 0.23 points to end at 20.62 and Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) was up 0.97% or 0.27 points to 27.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE), which fell 0.83% or 0.13 points to trade at 15.55 at the close. Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) declined 0.58% or 0.27 points to end at 46.35 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) was down 0.63% or 0.50 points to 79.14.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which rose 11.69% to 3.63, X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:XFAB) which was up 3.29% to settle at 7.22 and Coface (EPA:COFA) which gained 1.59% to close at 14.02.
The worst performers were Carmila SA (EPA:CARM) which was down 1.05% to 16.90 in late trade, Lectra SA (EPA:LECS) which lost 0.91% to settle at 32.60 and ICADE (EPA:ICAD) which was down 0.78% to 28.16 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 213 to 173 and 132 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.20% or 28.65 to $2,364.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.39% or 0.30 to hit $77.27 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.23 to trade at $81.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 104.80.
