Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.08% to hit a new 6-months high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which rose 1.07% or 0.62 points to trade at 58.44 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 0.71% or 0.18 points to end at 25.53 and Safran SA (EPA:SAF) was up 0.67% or 0.78 points to 117.22 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which fell 1.42% or 0.49 points to trade at 33.77 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 1.12% or 0.60 points to end at 52.75 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) was down 0.64% or 1.20 points to 186.90.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Metropole Television SA (EPA:MMTP) which rose 3.08% to 13.40, Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which was up 1.70% to settle at 28.66 and Ipsos (EPA:ISOS) which gained 1.68% to close at 54.40.
The worst performers were Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 5.85% to 2.67 in late trade, Mcphy Energy (EPA:MCPHY) which lost 4.13% to settle at 12.42 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 4.11% to 6.53 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 261 to 260 and 101 ended unchanged.
Shares in TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) rose to 5-year highs; rising 1.07% or 0.62 to 58.44. Shares in Safran SA (EPA:SAF) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 0.67% or 0.78 to 117.22. Shares in Ipsos (EPA:ISOS) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.68% or 0.90 to 54.40.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.44% or 7.70 to $1,753.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.42% or 1.11 to hit $76.83 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.38% or 1.18 to trade at $84.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 105.91.
