Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.00% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR), which rose 1.10% or 0.13 points to trade at 12.36 at the close. Meanwhile, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) added 0.89% or 0.62 points to end at 70.64 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was up 0.82% or 1.80 points to 221.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which fell 4.73% or 6.65 points to trade at 134.00 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 3.02% or 0.78 points to end at 24.86 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) was down 2.95% or 0.35 points to 11.35.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which rose 4.78% to 4.17, Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which was up 3.33% to settle at 24.20 and Aeroports de Paris SA (EPA:ADP) which gained 2.80% to close at 124.70.
The worst performers were Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which was down 12.66% to 14.04 in late trade, Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which lost 6.86% to settle at 10.93 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 5.79% to 1.68 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 296 to 209 and 116 ended unchanged.
Shares in Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) rose to 5-year highs; rising 0.82% or 1.80 to 221.50. Shares in Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 12.66% or 2.04 to 14.04. Shares in Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) fell to 3-years lows; falling 6.86% or 0.81 to 10.93. Shares in Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) fell to all time lows; falling 5.79% or 0.10 to 1.68.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.19% or 3.85 to $2,027.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.09% or 0.07 to hit $78.39 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $83.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 104.23.
