China stocks higher at close of trade; Shanghai Composite up 2.20%

Investing.com – China stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Software & Computer Services, Technology and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite rose 2.20%, while the SZSE Component index climbed 3.39%.

The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Shanghai Greencourt Investment Group Co Ltd A (SS:600695), which rose 10.06% or 0.35 points to trade at 3.83 at the close. Meanwhile, Hangzhou Youngsun Intelligent Equipment Co Ltd (SS:603901) added 10.05% or 0.94 points to end at 10.29 and SEC Electric Machinery Co Ltd (SS:603988) was up 10.04% or 1.25 points to 13.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Guizhou Chitianhua Co Ltd (SS:600227), which fell 10.05% or 0.420 points to trade at 3.760 at the close. Wuhan East Lake High Technology Group Co Ltd (SS:600133) declined 10.04% or 0.940 points to end at 8.420 and Nanjing Xinjiekou Department Store Co Ltd (SS:600682) was down 10.02% or 1.83 points to 16.44.

The top performers on the SZSE Component were Shanghai Kingstar Winning Software (SZ:300253) which rose 10.04% to 12.39, Shanxi Baiyuan Trousers Chain Management Co Ltd (SZ:002640) which was up 10.04% to settle at 15.02 and Digital China Information Service Co Ltd (SZ:000555) which gained 10.02% to close at 13.28.

The worst performers were Hubei Golden Ring Co Ltd (SZ:000615) which was down 3.97% to 6.29 in late trade, Chongqing Tong Jun Ge Co Ltd (SZ:000591) which lost 1.88% to settle at 3.66 and China Union Holdings Ltd (SZ:000036) which was down 1.82% to 5.94 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 1366 to 29 and 7 ended unchanged.

Shares in Nanjing Xinjiekou Department Store Co Ltd (SS:600682) fell to 3-years lows; down 10.02% or 1.83 to 16.44. Shares in Hubei Golden Ring Co Ltd (SZ:000615) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.97% or 0.26 to 6.29. Shares in Chongqing Tong Jun Ge Co Ltd (SZ:000591) fell to 5-year lows; falling 1.88% or 0.07 to 3.66. Shares in China Union Holdings Ltd (SZ:000036) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.82% or 0.11 to 5.94.

The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was unchanged 0.00% to 25.37.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.07% or 0.90 to $1251.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.35% or 0.26 to hit $73.19 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $77.59 a barrel.

USD/CNY was down 0.08% to 6.6224, while EUR/CNY rose 0.44% to 7.7005.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 94.63.
