Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Real Estate, Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 1.32%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Tim Participacoes SA (SA:TIMP3), which rose 3.98% or 0.39 points to trade at 10.18 at the close. Meanwhile, PDG Realty SA (SA:PDGR3) added 2.70% or 0.010 points to end at 0.370 and Cia Paranaense de Energia (SA:CPLE6) was up 1.56% or 0.52 points to 33.77 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco do Brasil SA (SA:BBAS3), which fell 3.62% or 0.85 points to trade at 22.60 at the close. Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (SA:CYRE3) declined 3.56% or 0.39 points to end at 10.58 and ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3) was down 3.52% or 0.05 points to 1.37.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 179 to 120 and 3 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.07% to 31.32.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.67% or 8.00 to $1186.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.69% or 1.65 to hit $59.62 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 1.68% or 2.23 to trade at $134.38 .
USD/BRL was up 0.08% to 3.1345, while EUR/BRL rose 1.16% to 3.5332.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.67% at 95.35.
