Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Real Estate and Public Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Banco Bradesco SA (SA:BBDC3), which rose 2.06% or 0.68 points to trade at 33.65 at the close. Meanwhile, CCR SA (SA:CCRO3) added 2.05% or 0.38 points to end at 18.93 and Telefonica Brasil SA (SA:VIVT4) was up 1.79% or 0.83 points to 47.08 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3), which fell 7.14% or 0.49 points to trade at 6.37 at the close. Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4) declined 5.34% or 1.39 points to end at 24.65 and Cosan SA Industria e Comercio (SA:CSAN3) was down 5.00% or 2.17 points to 41.24.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 216 to 151 and 33 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Bradesco SA (SA:BBDC3) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 2.06% or 0.68 to 33.65.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.91% to 27.91.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.03% or 0.35 to $1239.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.45% or 0.79 to hit $53.54 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 0.57% or 0.86 to trade at $150.82 .
USD/BRL was down 1.02% to 3.0639, while EUR/BRL fell 0.71% to 3.2376.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 101.25.
