Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Financials and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 2.27%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3), which rose 8.39% or 0.63 points to trade at 8.14 at the close. Meanwhile, ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3) added 7.58% or 0.10 points to end at 1.42 and Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4) was up 7.48% or 0.84 points to 12.07 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PDG Realty SA (SA:PDGR3), which fell 2.70% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.370 at the close. Light SA (SA:LIGT3) declined 2.06% or 0.36 points to end at 17.14 and Cia Energetica de Minas Gerais (SA:CMIG4) was down 2.05% or 0.30 points to 14.32.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 193 to 109 and 8 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.64% to 31.66.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.42% or 5.00 to $1193.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.10% or 0.06 to hit $61.22 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 2.24% or 2.90 to trade at $132.15 .
USD/BRL was down 1.25% to 3.1307, while EUR/BRL rose 0.76% to 3.4901.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.57% at 95.99.
