Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Public Utilities, Electric Power and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Cosan SA Industria e Comercio (SA:CSAN3), which rose 3.87% or 1.38 points to trade at 37.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Petroleo Brasileiro SA PN (SA:PETR4) added 3.45% or 0.45 points to end at 13.50 and Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) was up 2.78% or 1.850 points to 68.450 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Metalurgica Gerdau SA (SA:GOAU4), which fell 5.66% or 0.210 points to trade at 3.500 at the close. ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3) declined 4.86% or 0.320 points to end at 6.260 and Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) was down 3.79% or 0.89 points to 22.61.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 166 to 157 and 36 ended unchanged.
Shares in Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.78% or 1.850 to 68.450.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.49% to 36.73.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.03% or 0.45 to $1318.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.35% or 0.59 to hit $44.45 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 2.84% or 4.33 to trade at $156.90 .
USD/BRL was down 0.38% to 3.2583, while EUR/BRL fell 0.58% to 3.6338.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 95.97.
