Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumption and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3), which rose 4.12% or 0.75 points to trade at 18.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Petroleo Brasileiro SA (SA:PETR3) added 3.69% or 0.50 points to end at 14.05 and Braskem SA (SA:BRKM5) was up 3.29% or 0.43 points to 13.51 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3), which fell 6.47% or 0.09 points to trade at 1.30 at the close. Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (SA:CYRE3) declined 4.74% or 0.51 points to end at 10.26 and EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) was down 3.46% or 0.29 points to 8.09.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 167 to 121 and 7 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.98% to 31.34.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.19% or 2.20 to $1175.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.22% or 0.14 to hit $60.30 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 0.75% or 1.02 to trade at $137.12 .
USD/BRL was down 0.45% to 3.1006, while EUR/BRL fell 0.55% to 3.4973.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 95.17.
