Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.24% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 1.70% or 0.660 points to trade at 39.550 at the close. Meanwhile, Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) added 0.97% or 1.10 points to end at 114.60 and UCB (BR:UCB) was up 0.93% or 0.65 points to 70.38 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which fell 0.58% or 0.30 points to trade at 51.37 at the close. Elia (BR:ELI) declined 0.37% or 0.170 points to end at 46.280 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was down 0.37% or 0.40 points to 107.85.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 74 to 73 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.02% or 0.20 to $1234.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.89% or 0.37 to hit $41.34 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $43.10 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.31% to 1.1319, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.7929.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 94.45.
