It's becuase China's "true" Growth rate is not 5 % as they like to brag. It's about 1.5-2%.The true figures are refelcted in Chinese / HK stock markets.There is no other reason.

don't get me wrong. I have nothing against china/hong kong. On the contrary, have started to accomulate last year on chinese stocks but now im back or even bellow to what I've started. Still us stocks perform great. There are tensions but they seem to reflect only chinese evaluations. And these evaluations are like nikkey before 30 years or even worse

I have a question to all living in Hong Kong/China: With hang seng halved during the recent years how do you plan to retire with such negative return? Are there discussions regarding this issue in Hong Kong and aren't peaple worried? This index has basically returned 20-30 years in the past and if we also adjust for inflation it gets really scary

there is no f issue in hong kong at all. Everything is back to normal since Covid restriction released. All issues are originated from other countries. Tourists come to HK as before, but they have to go to work as well, so as same as other countries there are many tourists during holidays, and less tourists during weekdays. All US or China issues are manipulation, HK has to suffer. I suggest those idio throw their Iphone, ipa d, nike to sea, all are made in China

if there is no issue then why chinese stocks are falling like a knife as similar us stocks are near all time highs? You may not see it on the street but If you rely on your investments i cannot see how there is no issue?

this index is worse even than MOX/RSI Russian stocks and I really don't know what events are priced in. OR maybe the Chinese gamblers are simply irrational and prefer to pile in ghost cities:)
