                  • Analyst are not very kind peopel so when they recommend a stock, thier client, have position and when they downgrade if you do some research the are buying the stock or have already shorted. Marker Makers people who run the NYSE or NASDAQ pay for seats on those trading floors. One way and the most profiable way to make money is to reccommend a stock, upgrade, and sell it the morning of the recommendation. Here is how it works. Market makers are responsible for providing liquidity in the market for the stocks they are resposible for. They buy and sell. The morning of the reccomending a stock, usually the bids come in higher than the previous day closing price. The market maker has that data and it increase the price based on demand. So, they sell the stock at a higher price. But after half hour or one hour they fload the market with same stock, supply, and the stock drops. Then they buy it back from traders for less than what sold it for. Food for thougt.

                  • if a stock is fundamentally bullish and also upgraded by those analysts then what would happen?

                • where is the volume?

                  • I have been in the stock market for the pas 20 years and this year I am witnessing market manipiulation more thanever. It could be caused by Market Makers, or pre-porgammed algorithim. Look at other stocks trading on NASDAQ, most of them drop at the same time and the drops are bigger than what it used to be. The other thing that is possible which the market makers, the banks that are running the trading floor, missed out on growth stock rebound last year are simply mad. There is alot of money has been shifted from growth to value stocks and that is where most of those market makers had invested money for many years, but have been under performing. Now they are enjoying the uptrend in the value stocks and they like to keep it that way. So, when Growth stocks go up, they manage to bring them down to maring out every trader who; especially, young traders who came on board last year and were all bregging about how much they made.

                    • And its not only in NASDAQ, i have stocks in Europe and Canada, and the pattern is exacly the same.. sad
                      0
                    • youre right and perfectly right on the last statement. what is the logical thing to do now when the looses are going to be 70%? cut and leave it there honestly?
                      0
                    • This is a tough call - I am holding onto to my positions and I don't have compelling thoery to say to you that you should do the same. Here is what I knwo that in the indusry money rotates and right now the moeny flow is positive for values stocks and negative for growth stocks. Is it justied, not at all. Have a look at stock such as AA, X, FCX, CVX, BA and many more, none of those stocks have had a positivie EPS. However, those stocks are outperforming growth stocks. So, there will be a shift again, where money will outlfow the values stocks and will go back into growth stocks. The inflation has been overblown and it has created uncertainty in the market. Last Friday, everone was happy and today the idea of increasing interest rates has resurfaced and hence the drop in Nasdaq. Remmeber all this fear is inflicted by the market makers - a lot of prominant economist have voiced their opnion that the inflation fear is overblown. Food for though.
