Those Americans have no guts, we knew that already! I am still long, this is pure panic. I even read that Lufthansa is one of the only ones still flying from Africa and they have full planes at 3 to 5 times the normal cost - nice money maker actually for the moment.

When it comes to viruses, science usually shows that when a virus becomes more contagious it also loses lethality. It is logical, the most severe viruses tend to take out patients who die or are very sick and therefore isolated from the contaminating population. Contagious viruses tend to lose their lethality when mutating but also become more contagious. If some countries are closing their airports, it is because they are unable to fully immunize their population. Believing that a more serious variant will emerge is not consistent, on the other hand the variants that will emerge will be more contagious but will become harmless as with the flu. This is also what is happening in South Africa according to the doctor who identified Omicron.

Flights will not be stopped, to my knowledge. Germany is embracing the 2G solution, and therefore, most likely no lockdown. I think this is just an over-reaction to the index meltdown. I think I will buy here, I doubt it can really get to 5, and don't want to miss the train
