Daiichi Chuo Kisen Kaisha operates as an integrated shipping company in Japan and internationally. It operates capesize bulk carriers that transport loads of iron ore and coal for steel production; panamax/handymax vessels for the transportation of other commodities, such as coal, iron ore, nickel ore, bauxite, and salt in Southeast Asia, India, Australia, and the Pacific regions; and small handy size bulk carriers, which transport steel products to the United States Gulf, as well as grains, fertilizers, nonferrous metals, or goods related to energy in Atlantic Ocean primarily the Americas. The company also offers tramper services in Asian waters; and operates vessels that principally carry coal from Russia and Indonesia to Japan, cement from Japan to Southeast Asia, and steel products from Japan to China and Southeast Asia, as well as logs, lumber, and plywood from Southeast Asia. In addition, it provides coastal services comprising cement/limestone self-unloading vessels; and operates coal and fly ash carriers for electric power companies. The company was founded in 1892 and is based in Tokyo, Japan.
