Chartwell Retirement Residences is a Canada-based open-ended real estate trust. The Company is engaged in the ownership, operations and management of retirement and long-term care communities in Canada. It operates a range of seniors housing residences, from independent supportive living through assisted living to long term care. It operates through two segments: Retirement Operations and Long Term Care Operations. The Retirement Operations segment includes approximately 162 communities that it owns and operates in four provinces in Canada: British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec. The retirement communities provide services to age-qualified residents. The Long Term Care Operations segment includes approximately 20 homes in Ontario, which includes one retirement residence that is connected to a long term care home. It offers various options, such as independent living, independent supportive living, assisted living, memory care and long-term care.
