Why because they are charging a arm and leg when covid is here. Sending back 20 dollars when you arent driving or go anywhere during the pandemic proves to me. Insurance companies are only for the money. Just invest by paying your home off and invest the money saved into something other than your house for your insurance

depends on your loan interest rate. If it's below 4%, put money into the market instead because the historical gains are north of 7%. If you're close to retirement then yeah maybe look at paying the house off.
